On October 20, Japan time, it was announced that Yuki Kawamura’s contract with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies had been upgraded to a 2-way contract.

With the 2-way contract Kawamura has signed, he can move between the NBA and its G League affiliate while appearing in up to 50 NBA games.
If he appears in an NBA game, he will become the fourth Japanese player in history after Yuta Tabuse, Yuta Watanabe, and Rui Hachimura, and the first Japanese NBA player developed from Japan’s domestic professional basketball league, B.LEAGUE.
