Matchups Revealed for “World University Basketball Series 2025,” Featuring World-Class University Teams

Tokyo, May 12, 2025 – Rakuten Group, Inc. and the All Japan University Basketball Federation (JUBF) today announced the matchups for the World University Basketball Series 2025 (WUBS 2025). This marks the fourth year of the tournament, which brings together top-tier university men’s basketball teams from around the globe.

WUBS 2025 is hosted by JUBF with operation support provided by Rakuten Sports, a Rakuten Group business focused on creating partnerships with professional athletes and other sports services. The tournament, now in its fourth year, will take place from August 9 to August 11, 2025, at the Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. Eight teams from Australia, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Japan, the Philippines, and Hong Kong will participate in a tournament-style competition.

Super Early Bird tickets, offering a 30% discount, are now available for purchase on the official website, ahead of general ticket sales commencing on July 10. Early Bird tickets with a 15% discount will go on sale on June 10 and all tickets will be available via Rakuten Ticket, Rakuten Group’s ticket reservation and sales site, among other ticketing websites.

On top of regular tickets, discounted 3-Day Pass tickets and tickets with an official WUBS towel will also go on sale starting May 12. For all WUBS games, children of elementary school age and younger can watch for free, provided they are accompanied by a guardian aged 18 or older.

In addition to the world-class basketball action on court, popular Korean boy group n.SSign has been appointed as special supporters, bringing their K-pop power to the tournament. They will be appearing on the final day of the tournament, August 11, with a halftime performance and other exciting activities planned.
